Loveseat
Otherwise known in British term as a “two-seater”, loveseats are designed for a closer, more intimate type of seating. It usually comes in with a sofa set but there are also stores that offer love seat sets alone. Naturally, this type of sofa is ideal for close quarters such as flats. For example, in a skimpy apartment’s living room, the design and wall painting as well as the furnishings, should go hand in hand to give economy in space. Thus, it is more practical to buy a loveseat as the main seating accommodation, than purchasing the whole sofa set. Likewise, there are now personalized designs for love seats so, colour coordination and style won’t be any problem at all.
If you are one of those individuals who like tinkering stuff with their own hands, then reupholstering a loveseat or any furniture might be your forte. Moreover, aside from the savings you get, you also get to choose your own design with the cushion. Hence, we provide below some usable tips for (re)upholstery that will be beneficial to DIY fans out there.
a. Choose the fabric well. Buy extra fabric than what is needed to ensure a steady supply. Any way, you can still use the remaining fabric for pillow or other uses.
b. Give extra care when taking notes during the process of removing the old upholstery because you will reverse it when you put back the new fabric.
c. When cutting, add extra length for seam allowance.
d. It is better to add padding on the seat or arms. You are just actually copying what has been done to the loveseat before.
e. Websites or books with illustrations might prove helpful, too.
